People in Permaculture
In Permaculture, People Care is one of the Three Ethics.
Permaculture Principles can be applied to
‘Nurturing our Inner Garden’
How we use the permaculture principles in our home gardens are also applicable to our inner gardens.
Click the principles below to see how
Observe & Interact, Capture & Store Energy, Obtain a Yield, Apply Self Regulation & Accept Feedback, Produce No Waste, Use Renewable Resources & Services, Design from Pattern to Detail, Integrate rather than Segregate, Use Small & Slow Solutions, Use & Value Diversity, Use Edges & Value the Marginal, Creatively Use & Respond to Change
Our human experience is very unique amongst other animals. Many of the greatest philosophers, artists and thinkers were both inspired and deeply engaged with nature. All of the inventions that have been created by humans have been inspired by nature.
At the heart of People Care is Self Care. The depth of our experience is directly related to how we connect with nature. How we care for, respect and relate to ourselves is fundamental for our health. Our garden when in balance is a great mirror for creating optimum health. Just like the garden. if we are exposed to synthetic chemicals and our natural cycles are not able to flow we become unbalanced and are prone to dis-ease through inflammation, depression, isolation, separation and so on.
Self-expression, creativity and intrapersonal relationships are key to abundance, health and community.
Human health is in essence a cooperation of relation to our self, others and nature.
What is ‘Regenerative Co-Creators’?
We will follow the journeys of individuals, communities and businesses that are paving the way for this to become a reality. It’s already happening. There is a growing network of likeminded souls who can see another way to live.
On my journey through learning about Permaculture, Soil Regeneration and Human Health, a vision started to be created.
Imagine we have communities of people all over the UK who are committed to a new way of life. A life that is grounded in the Earth, committed to collaboration rather than competition, focussed on local resources, skills and individual purpose.
Abundance is how you see life. We only need to look to nature. Even in winter, our natural landscapes are full of life. We can see this clearly when we understand life through the framework of nature. The linear model of modern times only show scarcity or lack of resources. But this fundamentally flawed! A change in perspective, or what I like to call ‘The Creative Mindset’ allows us to see natural materials and energy as…..
Resources are abundant when we use and value them from a cyclical and local perspective.
Connection is everywhere. Everything in connected in life, from the quantum level all the way up to our Sun and Earth. Nature doesn’t make mistakes. Human beings wellbeing is a mirror image of the state of communities are the land we inhabit.
The opportunity for authentic and healthy connection for many of us is in our own gardens and community gardens. We actually connect more deeply with ourselves when we are immersed in natural space.
Health and Well Being can be measured in many ways. There is no denying the way we live affects how we feel, how we behave and what we tell ourselves. Being Well today can be challenging. People invest time, money and effort in trying to feel good. Health and well being come from abundance and connection. When we know there is more than enough, we are more than enough and we feel supported, we are far more likely to practice self-care and be compelled to contribute.
If you want to live a regenerative life, that is balanced, holistic and aligned with your own vision and values then you can take the first step and start creating abundance, health and value in your life and beyond.
If we are to regenerate the land and oceans, then we need to collaborate with nature and give her a helping hand. It is this partnering with and learning from nature that will allow us to speed up the process of healing the Earth.
In every town, village, city and country environment there are people who want to look after land and there is land that needs to be regenerated.
Community is at the heart of all human settlements, and people are at the heart of all community. ‘People Care’ is the foundation of prosperity, abundance and health within society.
Here at ‘The Walnut Project’ we are doing just that.
The Walnut Project is not a place, it is an ‘IDEA’ a vision, a beautiful offering to every community in the UK.
Imagine communities all over the UK where all individuals are given the space to contribute through passion and purpose. There are natural settings where wildlife and humans can share the space and there is no competition, only collaboration. there is no scarcity, only abundance.
Nature is only abundance. It is only when humans are out of the flow of natural rhythms that scarcity becomes a reality.
What is possible if ‘IDEAS’ like ‘The Walnut Project’ are created around the UK? Places where people can go to ground, connect, regenerate their souls, bodies and minds, be with others who wish to heal and rejuvenate?
Communities would reconnect, regenerate, localise, there would be crafts people, artists, food growers, musicians, teachers of all types all learning from each other. People would feel safe, the earth would be sacred and the future would be bright.
‘The Walnut Project’ is a collaboration of
Myself, Danny (Ordanics) George and Giuliano.
We have started to regenerate the land, already hosted two work parties, taught community members to sow seeds and planted out vegetables, fruit bushes and trees, as well as building a kitchen area and compost toilet.
We have a big vision for the future with some of our goals being
We will be opening our land to community members in 2026, where will host more work parties for people to experience the land and to begin hosting workshops.
The workshops will be reasonably priced, including lunch and we will be teaching valuable skills for those that want to learn more about growing food, foraging and making natural garden amendments.
